The Blackmore & Sparkford Vale Hunt has been a cherished part of rural life in Somerset and Dorset for generations. Our country stretches across the beautiful Vale of Blackmore and into the rolling hills around Sparkford — limestone, clay and grass pasture that makes for exceptional hunting.
We welcome visitors, subscribers and foot followers who share a love of the countryside, the horse and hound. Whether you are an experienced rider or simply wish to follow on foot, there is a place for you with us.
The hunt operates within the law and is fully committed to trail hunting, maintaining the traditions of the chase whilst respecting the countryside and those who work it.
The Hunting Year
Mounted Followers
Ride with the field across our beautiful country. A cap is charged per day. Visitors and regulars are equally welcome — please contact the secretary for details.
Car Followers
Follow the hunt by road and track in your vehicle. Our country has excellent views of the vale and hounds working. A subscription or cap applies.
Foot Followers
Walk with us and experience the countryside at close quarters. Foot followers are warmly welcomed at all meets throughout the season.
